Compare frameworks
Fair comparison starts by understanding each framework on its own terms. This section will compare Biblical WorldModel proposals with conventional deep-time reconstruction, old-earth creationism, progressive creation, evolutionary creation, and conventional young-earth frameworks.
Criteria for comparison
A fair comparison needs criteria chosen before the outcome is known, not adjusted afterward to favor one framework over another. This site intends to apply the same five consistently to every framework it compares:
- Explanatory scope: how much of the relevant evidence a framework addresses, rather than a narrow slice selected for convenience.
- Predictive success: whether a framework anticipated a result before it was observed, or was extended to accommodate a result already known. See evidence for why that distinction carries weight.
- Parsimony: how many additional assumptions, exceptions, or auxiliary hypotheses a framework needs to remain viable.
- Fit with primary evidence: agreement with direct measurement, not with a secondary summary or a framework's own restatement of the measurement.
- Internal coherence: whether a framework's own commitments hold together, independent of whether an outside reader shares them.
No framework compared here is exempted from any of these criteria on the grounds that its conclusion is assumed correct in advance.
No comparison from neutral ground
Every framework compared here, Scripture-grounded and naturalistic alike, reasons from prior commitments: about what counts as evidence, which explanations are permissible, and what a satisfactory account of origins has to look like. No comparison is conducted from a standpoint that owes nothing to any worldview. Recognizing that is not a license to abandon the criteria above. It is a reason to state each framework's starting commitments openly, including this project's own, rather than treating one framework's assumptions as the neutral default and every other framework's assumptions as bias needing correction.
